Phone app?

I have some friends who don't have kindle apps yet, but they download them to the free PC app and save for the day. It's kind of handy, so I can sneak a few pages in at work during lunch break.

Orsolya (orsolya_d) | 121 comments What is the PC app?

message 9: by Rio (Lynne) (new)

Rio (Lynne) | 31 comments No App Orsolya. Just go ahead and download. Amazon keeps track and when you do get a device, Amazon will have them stored for you. Orsolya is the young un here and has no device! So funny! What do you have a flip phone? LOL

It's free in the UK too - just downloaded, so thanks for the tip off!

Yeah, yeah tease me all you want :P I also don't own a TV! I haven't since I was about 22 (28 next month). I am not as obsessed with modern technology as much as other young adults.

AND I DO have a smart phone! It's an Android not an iPhone (I don't like iPhones). My boyfriend doesn't though. He doesn't even have any social networking website profiles.

Just go here and download. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html...

I like to use the app when I'm browsing for what to read next, I get color covers that way. Most of the freebies I download I send to the PC app and only transfer to Mr. Kindle when I'm ready to read. Saves space.

Any kindle apps/devices synch and know where you left off, so I can read on the kindle in the morning, open up the PC app at work break and it knows to go to last page read (internet connection required, of course).

Sorry for the long link! That's the UK version (If you're in the US, you can probably just search "pc for Kindle" on Amazon US) - just download the Kindle to your PC and you can read Kindle books on it without the need for a Kindle, tablet or any other gizmo.

PS, if you ever want to switch between Amazon UK and US on a product, just switch the URL from .co.uk to .com. Works for profiles, wish lists etc. Comes in handy when you're sniffing out a new sock...

Caz (caz963) | 8 comments Heh - sniffing out new socks can be an interesting way to pass the time ;-)

Rio (Lynne) | 31 comments Orsolya, you can get the free kindle app for your android. I know it's small, but you can read the books on there.

message 17: by Darkpool (new)

Darkpool | 91 comments I have the kindle app on my android phone and find it very handy. Ideally I'd have a kindle, of course... I do the browsing and buying on my pc, then there the books are on the phone!

Orsolya (orsolya_d) | 121 comments Wow! Thanks so much everyone! I will look into this especially the free phone Kindle app because I swear I thought it cost money!
