Getting to Know You - Your Favorite Book

This challenge is original to SCC!

Duration: No deadline

For this month's getting to know you, let's find out what everyone's favorite book is. If you have more than one favorite you can just pick one, or you can do more than one if you like since there is no deadline this time. You can use your all time favorite, your latest 5 star read, your favorite in a specific genre - whatever book you think everyone should read.

Make sure to put a link to the book so we can all add it to our TBR if we haven't read it yet.

All formats are accepted
All books must be at least 150 pages
Cross-challenging is encouraged

Use any word in the Title or Author's first or last name.
A, An, The do not count.

I'll start us off. I'm going to start off with one and will probably do another once I finish this one.

One of my all-time favorite books is The Princess Bride by William GoldmanThe Princess Bride by William Goldman.
It's funny, a little bit snarky, romantic, full of adventure and it's a fantasy which is my favorite genre. I've read it more than once and will probably read it again sometime in the near future.

Barbara ★ My all-time favorite book is Outlander and the other 6 books in the series pretty much fill out my top ten.

This is an unforgettable saga of the Scottish Highlands and the war with the English. Claire is truly Jamie's soul mate. I honestly don't think one can survive without the other. I've heard of no one whose read Outlander and didn't fall in love with Jamie, Claire and Scotland. What a book and it's just the beginning of the adventures for these two fabulous characters.

Autumn Is Azathoth (HauntedReadingRoom) I'll join, and will post my "title of choice" later today, and then get started!
So glad this one is not on a deadline-cause the Review Mountain is thawing, but still huge.:)
Going to do two:
One set for Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake and one for The White Forest by Adam McOmber (I probably have, over the course of a long lifetime, a thousand favourites, but these are two of the current).

Sovotchka As there seems to be no deadline for this, I will pick my absolute number one first, and other favourites later.

Like I mentioned in the other challenge, my favourite author is Christoph Marzi, and my favourite book is one that won him the German Fantasy Award - Lycidas.
(Later on, I will choose Any Human Heart by William Boyd, and Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson.)

Welcome to the challenge, everyone! I think I've got everyone linked up.

Martha, To Kill a Mockingbird is also one of my very favorites. I've read it a bunch of times and am moved by it every time.

I've never read The Count of Monte Cristo (gasp!) I know, I know. It's one of those that I always say I'm going to read one day but it always gets pushed to the back burner.

Mallory, yes. My intention is for you to spell out every word in the title. If an individual decides not to do that it's ok. I'm not gonna come hunt you down or anything. :)

Barb | 682 comments Cherie wrote: "Use Title or Author's first or last name. A, And, The do not count."

Any word in title, or only the first word? "And" does not count but "An" does? I have a lot of As in my title and I want to be sure I've got it straight :)

I hadn't thought too much about it to tell you the truth! lol

Let's say any word in the title and I meant to write A, An and The. And is ok. I'll modify the rules above.

message 25: by Barb (new)

Barb | 682 comments It's not a really 'deep' book, Sara, but I laughed my way through most of it. How can you not laugh about something written by Dave Barry? LOL Having kids and a dog made it that much easier to identify with the story :)

Bree (coffeebeanbookshelf) I'll play! I've got a long list of favorites but the one I think everyone should read is Bright Shiny Morning by James Frey...I know he's got a bad rap with his Oprah kerfuffle (I never read that book) but I thought this book was awesome!

Ashley (AshleyCW) My all time favorite book is Bridge to Terabithia. I read it in the fourth grade for the first time and was hooked from the start. My teacher read it aloud to us and I couldn't wait for reading time everyday so we could hear another chapter.

I have reread it several times as an adult and still get emotional, and can even recite parts of it. And yes, I saw the movie when it came out. And as always, the book was better.

I will probably do multiple books...One of my favorite in Jr. High was At First Sight (Love Stories For Young Adults, #32) by Elizabeth Chandler which is very sweet and I still have the book and will never get rid of it.
