D.M. Dutcher | 35 comments I was browsing Youtube today and I suddenly remembered this game. Did anyone else play it? Rhapsody was a RPG for the PSone which was styled after a Disney musical. It came out in the states during the big JRPG boom, and it's one of the few shoujo games ever released here that I can think of. Princess Debut and the Inuyasha games are the only other ones that come to mind.

Some gameplay is here:

One of the songs, "True Courage," with scenes of the game's bonus artwork is here:

I wanted to also link the last song, "Thank You," but it's spoilerish.

There's a DS remake out there, but it only uses the Japanese songs and changed from isometric to side view for battles. It's easier to find though than the original, sadly.

I loved this game. XD I played the DS one, and really enjoyed it.

The problem is, there's a such a wide belief that "girls don't play video games" in the US (goes along with the "people only want the latest and greatest and don't care about story-line") that most for-girls games don't get translated.

Mike | 389 comments I don't remember much about this since it's been so long and I play a ton of games, but I remember really liking it at the time. Might have to dust it off at some point and see how it holds up.

I have a geek for a boyfriend, so I could probably find a download of the PS1 American release and emulate it on my original (modded)Xbox.
