Steve | 9 comments thought you guys might be interested in this new movie directed by michel gondry, leos carax, and bong joon-ho. bong's segment seems especially murakami-esque.

Angie | 11 comments Speaking of Murakami films, has anyone seen Tony Takatani? Only an hour and 15 minutes. So good, very true to the story. I highly recommend.

message 4: by Nate D (new)

Nate D (rockhyrax) I was lucky enough to catch Tony Takatani in a small theater when it came out for a brief run. Very quiet and simply arranged, and it captured the feel of the story well. Ryuichi Sakamoto did the score, with predictable finesse.

Angie | 11 comments That's what I mean...it just felt like Murakami even if he hadn't written the short story. Simple, elegant.

There was discussion of Tony Takitani in an older thread here. The DVD is available through both Netflix and Amazon for those interested. It is a wonderful short film.
