Challenge each other to word wars here. If you don't know what those are, I will post the lovely Brigid's explanation.

It's fairly simple. This is basically how it works:

Person A: Hey, wanna have a word war from 12:30 until 12:45?
Person B: Sure thaaaang!
*15 minutes later*
Person A: I wrote 300 words.
Person B: Hahahahaha. I wrote 998,039,859,348,509,438,534,958 words.
Person A: OH DANG. I lose.
Person B: I WIN. PARTYIN', PARTYIN' YEAH!
Person A: Oh well, it doesn't matter because we were both motivated and wrote more than we would have if we'd been writing by our lonesome little selves!
Person B: You only say that because you lost. Yup, you're totally right! :D

Get at it!

WINNING. Haha, my writing is always so awful during Word Wars because I panic.

message 19: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (flwurautumn) | 4987 comments I kind of panic, but I also don't because I'm really noncompetitive XD

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

I should do a word war. But maybe I'll wait until tomorrow when I don't have as much excitement to motivate me.

message 21: by Jayda (new)

Jayda | 2761 comments Anyone going to be up for a word war tomorrow between 12noon and 1:30pm? I wish I could do some tonight but I have work tomorrow :/ Goodnight, lovelies!

Oh hey, I might be around. If my mom doesn't go on a crazy cleaning rampage when she gets home from work. (she does that a lot with the baby coming in the next month and a half)

Jayda | 2761 comments Hurray! :) I'll comment when I'm able to do it (should be between 12noon and 1:30, as I said) and we'll see whose able to! :)

message 31: by Jayda (new)

Jayda | 2761 comments Well heyyyy! If anyone wants to do a 10-15 minutes word war now I can do it :)

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, I forgot you're in a different time zone. *facepalm* I missed it.

message 33: by Jayda (new)

Jayda | 2761 comments Hahaha, no, it's just now 1:10. The baby I nanny wouldn't go to sleep, so I can do a word war in the next 15ish minutes :)

message 34: by Jayda (new)

Jayda | 2761 comments Okay, I can do a word war now! :)

Anyone online?

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

I could do one at about :40, maybe?

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Anyone available for a word war now?

message 37: by Jayda (new)

Jayda | 2761 comments Gah! Sorry haha. I'm up for one :) How does :50 sound?

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

Don't worry about it. :50 sounds fine to me. How long?

message 39: by Jayda (new)

Jayda | 2761 comments Hmmm... 15 minutes?

message 40: by Jayda (new)

Jayda | 2761 comments Also, has anyone bought the desktop version? I'm tempted to get it since it's only $10, but I don't know if it's worth it when I can use the online version for free

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay, 15 minutes.

The desktop version of Write or Die? No. I didn't know there was one, and I'm broke. XP

message 42: by Jayda (new)

Jayda | 2761 comments Yeah, there is one :) It's only $10 so I'm thinking of getting it, but I'm not sure it's worth it

I AM GOING TO JOIN.

Jayda - I have the desktop version, and it's not drastically different from the online version. I think the main difference is that it shows you a progress bar as you type (one that shows you your goal, and the other that shows you how far you are). Also, it automatically saves everything you write on it, which is nice. You can also customize the font, color, sounds, etc. So, it's cool, but there aren't a lot of huge differences between it and the online one.

Jayda | 2761 comments It's not working? 1158 words in 15 minutes.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

The site isn't showing how many words I wrote, so...

375

Not that much, but at least it boosts my word count a little.

Oooh! Okay :) Maybe I'll get it sometime when I have a spare $10

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Wait, when I copied and pasted it to my word document, it said I wrote 392.... Whatever.
