TMR Staff Picks (themissourireview) | 2 comments I'm an intern with the University of Missouri's literary journal, The Missouri Review (TMR). TMR is currently attempting to create an authors page using the issues of the magazine already in the Goodreads database; however, because the issues' authors are currently listed as either our editors, or a single author published in that issue we're unable to use them to create an author's page.

While The Missouri Review recognizes that the editors and staff are not technically the authors of the magazine, if someone could change all of the authors of the TMR issues in the Goodreads database to The Missouri Review (as publisher), then we would be able to use them to create an author's page. Doing so would add validity to the issues already in the Goodreads system, would add validity to the authors published in them, and would allow The Missouri Review to further promote the authors we publish throughout our social media network. Any help that could be given with this problem would be appreciated.

Having the publisher as author when an actual editor or author is known is contrary to Goodreads policy. For this reason, author pages for publishers are not generally approved.

TMR Staff Picks (themissourireview) | 2 comments What if the editors want the magazine to be attached to the publishers directly instead them as editors?

It's a matter of consistent policy, not personal preference.

Cait (tigercait) | 5005 comments Isn't there a publisher's program like the author's program? So the publisher shouldn't need to be listed as an author in order to join.

It was discontinued, actually.

We do often approve publishers as librarians, assuming they are clear on policies.
