Best scene: “I’ve been patient. I’ve given you time to recognize my feelings, and I’ve seen you choose a man who loved the girl you we..."
Connor DIED? I haven't even met Connor yet and he's DEAD? I haven't read any other books, so that's a SPOILER for me! LOL As soon as I am introduced to his character, I'll be waiting for his death!

Read from September 27 to 30, 2012
This is the October Daye book I've been waiting to be written. Things that I have been wanting to see... it's there. In spades. This is book 6 in the October Daye series.
As with the entire series, this is an urban fantasy, not a paranormal romance. The romance is not absent, but it takes a back seat to characters and plot. In my attempt to not spoil anything, all I can say is I am fist pumping in the air like a mofo!
The overall direction of the plot left me a bit worried at first. How many times are there going to be missing kids, and then October has to go looking for them? Sounds more than a wee bit familiar; surprisingly, McGuire was able to still keep this story line unique for the most part.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Tybalt, always have, always will. Love that King of Cats! Anyone out there still early in this series, if you LOVE Tybalt like I do, hurry up and get to this book! You'll thank me later!
If you haven't tried this series, I recommend it to anyone that likes snarky dialogue, funny movies references, urban fantasy that is not porn...
I love Tybalt too but in this book he just shines & gives me shivers. I can't wait for the next one which comes out next year :-(

I popped my somewhat summarized and edited thoughts up here : Ashes of Honor
Darn publishers! Why must they torture us with twelve months between releases???? Its just plain evil!! ;D

Best scene: “I’ve been patient. I’ve given you time to recognize my feelings, and I’ve seen you choose a man who loved the girl you were, not the woman you are. Now he’s gone, and I can’t be patient anymore.”
Other than “OMG”, “so good”, and “amazing” there’s not much I could say about Ashes of Honor without giving too much away and as not to risk it this review will be short & sweet.
I’ll start by saying a year has passed since Connor died & Gillian’s choice. During that year Toby got lost inside the chaos of her heart. So when Etienne asks for her help to find his changeling daughter (Chelsea) Toby agrees which could have possibly been the best thing for her. We discover 2 things immediately: 1) Toby’s friends & allies have been worried about her. 2) Chelsea has all the unlimited power of her fae heritage & none of the control (uh oh). The race or rather the chase is on to get to her before she destroys the walls protecting Faerie (& everyone else). Along the way secrets, betrayals, & hard-truths are revealed, choices are made that affect everyone, and Toby finds herself again but not in the way she was expecting.
This book was so good it kept me on the edge of my seat and now I’m going to re-read it again so that I can experience the thrills, chills, & frills all over again. IF you haven’t gotten your copy then you need to get it today!!!
