Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments very true I just got AVG and it seems to be working very well but I don't know if even that will keep them out

Yes I don't know what I would do if a virus got in my comp and I wasn't able to use it :( I think me might cry LOL

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Has anyone else who uses Mozilla Firefox having issues with the new update? I ended up reverting back to the last update before this one because it wouldn't let me use Firefox or even Internet Explorer.

message 9: by Thu (new)

Thu | 136 comments I only have Internet Explorer. How do you get Firefox? like what's the benefit of using it instead of IE?

message 10: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Firefox has its own protections against phishing and people getting your information. They're a free downloaded browser and I just really like it since I started using it years ago and only use IE if I'm desperate.

message 11: by Thu (new)

Thu | 136 comments but isn't firefox slower? and my dad bought nortn 360 for me but it gets annoying

message 12: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments No, it's not slower.

message 13: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Norton is being funky on my computer, it won't even open. I'll have to delete and then redownload it.

message 14: by Thu (new)

Thu | 136 comments oh but like doesn't firefox block certain sites so you have to use IE to access them?

message 15: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Nope...

message 16: by Thu (new)

Thu | 136 comments oh...ok

message 17: by Thu (new)

Thu | 136 comments ok thanks Tracy

message 18: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Thanks Tracy for explaining that and for the link for Thu. I always choose Firefox but that last update was not right, so I reverted back to the last Firefox. 3.5 or something.

I'm not sure if I have firefox or not I know that I have AVG and it checks off all the websites that are safe for me to enter is that what y'all are talking about?

message 20: by Thu (new)

Thu | 136 comments wait what is AVG? Meme, do you click on the internet explorer thing or does it say firefox?

message 21: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments it is my anti virus anti spyware anti pretty much everything LOL

message 22: by Thu (last edited Feb 08, 2009 08:39AM) (new)

Thu | 136 comments oh wow haha oh I hate when people try to get viruses on your computer it makes not sense

message 23: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments I just run a scan. THere's a thing called Windows Defender if you have a PC.

message 24: by Thu (new)

Thu | 136 comments yeah i scan my computer every night but its so stupid when people send you viruses and hacking too.

message 25: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments the AVG runs a scan every 4 hours to make sure nothing has gotten thru its really nice and I had to get it so I could start my schooling next month, you have to have a antivirus on your comp to do it.

message 26: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Mine runs one consistantly as well, as well as defrags which is nice too.

I have to run a defrag myself but it doesn't take long so its all good.

message 28: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments I just like not having to worry about it.

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments Kristen wrote: "I just like not having to worry about it."

Yes I don't blame you, I bet there is some kinda thing I could set on mine I just haven't done it yet LOL

message 30: by Thu (new)

Thu | 136 comments Oh if you download a game and then scan it for viruses like if there is a virus does it start infecting your computer like after you download it or after you run it?

message 31: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments that is a good question I don't know my anti virus wont let it download if it detects any kind of virus so I'm not sure how that works

message 32: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments I think it will fix it usually if its scanning it, or remove it. I'm signing out for a few hours now... birthday party for my niece and I still need to clean and wrap her presents! See you guys later tonight!
