Billy has an accent all his own. "Whale oil beef hooked." was easy, but "Chairs might red glass"? "Em are ducks"? "Loudspeaker"? Anyone out there speak Billy?

Not sure but I think it's East Coast, perhaps specifically Newfoundland & Labrador. The setting of the stories is in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, south of the St. Lawrence River. The St. Lawrence flows to the Atlantic Ocean and the East coast, Newfoundland etc. so it's very possible.

All this is my guess. I haven't checked it out. My only expertise regarding this matter is that I am Canadian and have visited the Eastern Townships and the East Coast of Canada.

Did you ever figure these out? Or anyone give you any clues?
