I'm kind of liking Maxon more. Even though he has all thise girls to choose from, his feelings seem genuine. Aspen feels kind of selfish to me, even though he does want a better life for America. It's definitely a toughy.
Oh, I so like Maxon more. :o I agree with Judith about Aspen feeling more selfish. I guess we'll see what happens as the series continue though! But for now, I so want to see her with Maxon!
Maxon, of course. He's nice, and sweet, and he cares about her and he's so awesome.I don't get Aspen. I don't get his motivations, and I have theory that he has some problem (i.e. Psychopathy or something like that) since there was emphasis put onto his weird tempters at the beginning of the book.
Plus, America and Aspen's 'love story' is the most ridiculous I've ever heard.

I'm going with Maxon on this one. Aspen just didn't do it for me but Maxon... He just seems so genuine with the way he feels about her. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next book. But for now I'm completely team Maxon.
TEAM MAXON! at the beginning of the book i knew there were teams and i thought i would be team aspen forever, but then i totally changed my mind! maxon is awesome!
Team MASON. At the end of the book, Aspen really annoyed me.
I am definitely on Team Maxon. He is so cute and has so much more to him than Aspen who is kind of "too little, too late." I was so sure I would like Aspen but after he put America through all that and Maxon comes along I realized how annoying Aspen was even though he seemed really hot.
Maxon! Aspen knows that America has feelings for Maxon and he still basically cheats with America, and all the things that Aspen put her through and then Maxon made that promise and kept it . . . it just made me really happy.
Maxon is just so sweet and even though he is 'dating' the other girls it seems as though if America said she was 'all in' he would send the rest home. Also I just don't understand Aspen's motivations!! I mean pshhh my butt that girl tripped in the square.
I was a little pissed though that America didn't say anything to Maxon when they ran into Aspen on their way to the theater. I mean come on! This guy tore your heart out, why would you ever allow him to stand outside your bedroom?! I didn't like the way that she assumed that Maxon would harm Aspen if he knew the truth.
Team Maxon I just don't buy Aspen's romance with America
Unless they show Maxon suffering from some huge character flaw in later books I'd choose him.
Team Maxon. He really likes Amercia. She is the only one he is really interested in, the others he is only keeping for publicity. He cares about her enough to tell her anything and actually listen to her. I dislike Aspen. He thinks he can just walk into the palace and win America back. He acts like he never broke her heart.
TEAM MAXON! HE IS ADORABLE. That is all.oh plus: They're relationship is full of funny and sweet moments.
There is still a lot of unresolved issues and questions.I'm going to give Aspen the benefit of my doubt.
So Team Aspen it is.
Perhaps he has some dark secrets or whatever.

But, I can't deny Maxon's charm.
Though he annoyed me at first, by the time I finished the book, he's grown on me.
Maxon all the way. He's humbler, gentler, and can offer America a better future.

Team MAXON!! Aspen broke America's heart, and then stomped all over it. He just hurts her by trying to get back into her life. That really pissed me off when he just showed up and was like "America, lets get back together. I don't care that you like Maxon, sure he's nice, but I loved you first (and then said I didn't love you)"... sorry, i have pent up issues about Aspen!! Grrr, stay away from Maxon and America!!
I initially loved aspen, but after the book I wanted her to choose Maxon.. TEAM ASPEN

I think I must be one of the few who wants her with Aspen. I mean, he was her first love and though he may be prideful, who doesn't have a fault? He did a lot of things for her; he gave her pennies that he could have used for food for his family; he wanted her to go because he thought she deserved better than what he had to offer which shows sacrifice. Then he was also going to go fight and most likely die. It also shows that he doubted himself a lot because I think he never truly believed that he was good enough for America and deserved everything Maxon had that Aspen could never give her. Makes me feel sorry for Aspen for believing he deserves so little.
i actually agree with everything you said about aspen. i just re-read the selection, and now i'm half team maxon and half team aspen. i will probably decide on a team in the elite though.

yes! what would be perfect is if one of the guys found another girl so then america could just be with one of them and wouldn't have to decide and they would all live happily ever after! :D
Unless Maxon does something incredibly mean I think he is going to end up with America. Well... at least I hope so. And gey, what about Marlee for Aspen?

I hope America and Maxon end up together but I can kinda see him choosing someone else at the last "round" or whatever and then being thrown together with America anyway.
I honestly think something else will happen because if Maxon gets with America, it is predictable. I hope the next one has a bit more action. I mean, it would be cool to read if America got with Aspen and then Aspen was sent away to fight war and then she receives word he died in battle but he really didn't...the author needs to throw a twist. Unless she wants it to be predictable, which most authors don't.

I think the twist will have sth to so with the rebellion, not the selection. Maybe the King and Queen might be abudcted by the rebels and then Maxon and America will have to save them. :)

After finishing The Elite, it's still team Maxon for me. Aspen is a good guy but Maxon has many outstanding/endearing qualities, and it's not because he is a prince (although that doesn't hurt ;).
Team Maxon for me. Aspen is ok too but I like Maxon way better :)
I am totally on Team Maxon. After reading The Elite I just like him more. He is patient and understanding, when Aspen is impatient and somewhat violent. Aspen reminds me of Gale from the Hunger Games. When Aspen and America spend time together they never talk, they just make out, but Maxon seems to truly care about America and what she says. And Katniss didn't end up with Gale in the end. :)
they both seem pretty full of themselves like neither of them can do any wrong and America has all the blame

I'm definitely Team Maxon! I think him and America have more chemistry than her and Aspen. I've been Team Maxon since the beginning though. I just feel like Maxon would be a better fit for her. Aspen's not a bad guy or anything, I just think he's better off with someone else.
I just finished the first book and I'm team MAXON all the way! Aspen is so selfish.
Oh duh obviously team Maxon... I'm so worried about the ending because you know how all our favorite authors never end the series how we want them to..If Kiera follows suit I will be very very sad.. I'm not a fan of Aspen even though he was her "first love"
Maxon! we dont even know why Aspen and America were really in love, just that they were. However, with Maxon they have common interests.
