I figure Charlaine will tell us a lot at Malice Domestic in April. That is how I found out so much about the series before it started last year

I came late to this, I watched the first season over the last two weeks, and I read the first book, and i'm waiting on the second one to be delivered!
i thought there was supposed to be discussion on here after the show premiered.. I am here, but nobody else is. pfft!

So...thoughts, feelings, opinions? what did you think of the premiere? any twists or turns that were particularly shocking? do you think it matches up with the book?

I liked it! I didn't think it was as action packed as some season 1 episodes, but they're laying a lot of groundwork so it'll be good to see where it goes.
Jessica is going to cause a lot of trouble imo, i just hope she doesnt end up with Hoyt, i want him to meet someone nice!
I definitely thought Sookie was going to break up with Bill, until he made his speech at the door.
I'm curious to see where the story is going to go with Sam and the maenad - i feel that they've given us quite big chunks of backstory, compared to other storylines in the past, so I don't know if its going to be resolved quickly maybe? And I can't decide if i think Eggs is an innocent pawn or part of the deception of Tara.
LOVED that Eric was getting his highlights done! I wonder what he's going to do to Lafayette? He was taking blood from that vampire and selling it, but he had the vampire's consent, so it wasnt as bad as killing three vampires in a fire!
It never even crossed my mind about who the dead body actually was, I totally assumed it was Lafayette!
So, what does everyone else think?
I am glad he didnt kill Lafayette - I like him. I think this was a lot of recovery for the characters so to speak and setting up the story. And MaryAnn is going to be very interesting. I Like Michelle Rhodes ever since she was on Battlestar Galactica
I'm also very glad Lafayette did not die. I absolutely love that man. I think Eric is smart enough to see that Lafayette is useful. I mean, what with his own entrepreneurial talents, I think Eric could use him some how. I'm so suspicious about Eggs. He's too......perfect. But Tara is so trusting. She might put on that tough bitch front, but it's only because she can't help wanting to trust everyone.
I think I almost fell in love with Bill when he made his little love speech. However, it was nice to know that Sookie is prepared to walk away if she needs to.
That Jessica....I wonder will she survive the season. If she does, what will be her place in the show? I can't figure that one out....she's not in the books, and while there have been many other changes to the series, I can figure out the purpose of those. But, what's Jessica's purpose?
So far i think the best twist is Lafayette requesting to be a vampire. Oh and of course the whole Jessica thing, I really do like that name lol
Hi there, I'm new. :) I am having a hard time with this Jessica character. Her entire storyline isn't fitting into the plot in my opinion, and I'm not sure I like her. She's nothing but an inconvenience.
On the other hand, I am very glad that Lafayette didn't die. He's turning out to be one of my favorites. :)
Also, really hate Mary Ann. For a while I couldn't figure out who she was, but that's because I completely forgot about her character in the book. :x

I think Jessica will stir things up for Bill and Sookie, but she is pretty annoying!

I'm glad they put Hoyt with Jessica. I was hoping he would get a special someone. Yeah HBO. Also, kudos for keeping Lafayette on the show.
