Reggia | 2344 comments Any other admirers of Alexander McCall Smith? He seems to be a very prolific writer, this link shows the different series he has written:

Alexander McCall Smith

Then you can click on one of those for the list of titles within that series. I have found all of them great for when I need a light, heartwarming read that manages to contain a bit of wit as well. He is probably best known for the #1 Ladies' Detective Agency stories.

Reggia | 2344 comments I just started reading the latest installment in the Isabel Dalhousie series:

The Comforts of a Muddy Saturday

Early on in the story Isabel (who edits an ethical magazine) wonders what would happen if some mysterious disease were to kill everyone over the age of 4? Would they learn the technology or have to start over? would they care for one another? Then there was a reference to Lord of the Flies. I have never read that, wonder what age those children were when first left to fend for themselves.
