Ed I read this while visiting Arches National Park. Couldn't put it down while there.

Virginia Arthur Guess you missed everything then. Ed would not approve.

Patrick Murphy In 1995 I went to Arches and Canyonlands... having read not only The Monkey Wrench Gang, but many others of Edward Abbey's books. I backpacked the endless red rocks and drank from the desert vein. I listened for Ed and for the desert to answer questions of my own. I love this man's writings and the world is a lesser place without him. Any place is a great place to read his work.

Wendy Heh, I just brought this with me while floating through the Grand Canyon. But only read about 2 pages a day. Scenery trumped novel, of course.

Sagheer Afzal I think this was more a comic book than a novel. The dialogue was very terse and the characters were cartoonish. But the 'nature' prose was very eloquent

James Kraus The Forester by James Kraus

I think this book gave Edward Abbey an outlet for the emotion he was feeling towards the people that were destroying the nature that he loved. A novel allows an author to express emotion & also allows a reader to feel the same emotions, which can be an outlet for a reader as well. But I don't believe in or support Eco-teriorism, however.

William Hood It's good to find other people that 'get it'.
