Carol Neman | 469 comments Charla, how did you like 'In Cold Blood'? I was (and still am) a big fan of both Truman Capote and Robert Blake and was impressed with the fact that the format of this book was the first of its kind...Capote started a new style with his true-crime-first-person interview research. I think this was one of the first movies Blake was cast in after the dry spell following his transition from child star. Also, I appreciated that the movie was very true to the book. I think that when it was first published it was thought to be 'grisly' but compared to present-day offerings of true crime, probably not so much.

Charla | 16 comments I loved "In Cold Blood". I live about 70 miles from where the killings took place so it's always been a bit fascinating to me. My husband actually remembers that time very well. There are some discrepancies in the book regarding a family that moved to our town after the killings. So, you have to wonder if there are other "non-truths" in the book. Would he able to get by with that today? Even knowing that, it doesn't take anything away from the book. I've never watched the movie (always opt for the book) but I might have to give it a try. I can read crime but I don't like to watch it.
