There's a summary! And an official release date of September 28th, 2009. :-( Usually it's the first of September.
Summary from Amazon.com:
On the very day that Jacky Faber is to wed her true love, she is kidnapped by British Naval Intelligence and forced to embark on yet another daring mission—this time to search for sunken Spanish gold. But when Jacky is involved, things don't always go as planned. Jacky has survived battles on the high seas, the stifling propriety of a Boston finishing school, and even confinement in a dank French prison. But no adventure has quite matched her opportunistic street-urchin desires—until now.

Ooooooooh, so exciting!

What do you all think of the cover? I think she's rather scantily dressed for the time period. I mean, it IS Jacky, but still! What about you?

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

she looks like she is wearing undergarments from that time period

Little Sparrow (Ella) (LittleSparrow) | 32 comments We should probably read it. It would explain more...

message 7: by Little Sparrow (new)

Little Sparrow (Ella) (LittleSparrow) | 32 comments By the way... it says her true love, meaning that it cold be someone other than Jaimy! Knowing Jacky, it could be!!!!

Yeah, it always could be, but she WAS with Jaimy (for once) at the end of MBLH, so....

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

ya

message 10: by Little Sparrow (new)

Little Sparrow (Ella) (LittleSparrow) | 32 comments Well, I personally don't care for Jaimy... I think it will end up being though. :(

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

i <3 jaimy he is AWSOME!!!!!

message 12: by Emily (new)

Emily I like Jaimy but i can never understand why she loves him. I mean, she had plenty of reasons to love him in the 1st book, but she hasnt seen him for more than like 10 minutes since she was what, 13? So i just dont quite get that.

Regan | 16 comments OMG! I can't wait for Rapture of the Deep!

Gosh, our little Jacky, all grown up and married!

All though Jacky is very flirtatious she always stays mostly true to Jaimy and never goes as far as she could. I think Jaimy will always be her true love but she will always give in to the temptation to flirt a bit. As Ink Mage said, she IS jacky!

message 15: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Hair | 21 comments I don't know. I really liked the French man, the intelligence officer. He was cute.

message 16: by Emily (new)

Emily ooh same here and i thought the romance was more realistic then the others. he also noticed that she was more than just pretty, she had other things about her too.

message 17: by Sagella (new)

Sagella | 10 comments I'm so excited for this book! My friends all call me a loser because I've read the series over and over so many times. It'll be good to get a new one.

message 18: by Sagella (new)

Sagella | 10 comments I like Jaimy, but I also like Jared a lot too :)

message 19: by Arie (new)

Arie | 11 comments love the cover but I was not crazy about the actual book not that much happened, but oh well it was still fun, plus I got mine signed so that was exciting

message 20: by Sarah Beth (new)

Sarah Beth (themaidofastolat) | 28 comments Okay, other than Arie who else has finished the novel?
I got it 2 weeks prior to the release date and read it within one night (talk about no sleep). It was a wonderful read...looking forward to Botany Bay. :)

message 21: by Arie (new)

Arie | 11 comments I believe the next one is in something like Loralie Lei? Can anyone confirm this?

I've finished Rapture. Didn't like it too much.

Book #8's working title is The Wake of the Lorelei Lee: Being an Account of the Adventures of Jacky Faber, on her Way to Botany Bay

Yep, I e-mailed Mr. Meyer last year and he confirmed that yes that is the working title (check his website for updates). FYI the e-mail addy is: jacky@jackyfaber.com

message 24: by Emily (new)

Emily I finished Rapture, who wants to discuss?

Sarah Beth (themaidofastolat) | 28 comments Emily wrote: "I finished Rapture, who wants to discuss?"

What did you think of the new additions? Jemima? Flaco? And the re-appearance of Tilly? Joannie? Davy? Tink?
And the Brer Rabbit stories?

message 26: by Emily (new)

Emily AHHHHH the Brer Rabbit stories GOT ON MY NERVES. I skipped most of them...I liked Jemima other than that, though. Flaco was...weird. I couldnt decide if I liked him or not. I thought re-indtroducing Tilly was weird. I though Jacky was a little cold towards him, which I didn't like. hmmm....What do you think?

message 27: by Arie (new)

Arie | 11 comments those Brer rabbit stories were getting sooooo old! I wished that he would just stop writing them! Jacky just didn't seem to be herself until the last hundred or so pages, I was a bit unimpressed

message 28: by Emily (new)

Emily i KNOW i was soooo sick of the stories! The whole times i was like shut UP already!!!

message 29: by Arie (new)

Arie | 11 comments Jemima was fun other than those stories, though I didn't think jacky should've participated in the slave trade

message 30: by Sarah Beth (new)

Sarah Beth (themaidofastolat) | 28 comments Jacky was just being her normal self. You have to remember that she was once on her way to be a slave herself...she doesn't want that to happen to anyone else. She was doing what she thought was best.
Also...I love the Brer Rabbit stories...but that's because I grew up reading them and watching Song of the South...I'm from Georgia and it's part of my upbrining so to speak.

message 31: by Emily (new)

Emily I heard the brer rabbit stories growing up as well, but they had no place in this book.

Hannah | 21 comments Emily wrote: "AHHHHH the Brer Rabbit stories GOT ON MY NERVES. I skipped most of them...I liked Jemima other than that, though. Flaco was...weird. I couldnt decide if I liked him or not. I thought re-indtroducin..."

well, Jacky had a right to be mad at Tilly considering he sent her up in that kite and that was what got her hanged. I would have been cold towards him too.

message 33: by Emily (new)

Emily I know, but Jacky is usually pretty forgiving, and she is generally happy to see old friends...

message 34: by Heatherjoy (new)

Heatherjoy | 3 comments the only reason i think jaimy and jacky are still togeather is because they aren't really in love but in love with the idea of being in love , or as jacky sayas, "being promised to another"

message 35: by Allison (new)

Allison (alanacooper) | 25 comments He always keeps Jaimy just out of reach_ they see each other for a week then he goes somewhere else of she has to leave for some reason. I thkn that he's saving the "true love" until the last book, i mean doesn't it seem like that? SHe had flings w/ like 10 other guys but they always end at the end of that particular book. Or they end and come back but they still don't last (in Joseph Jared's case). Jaimy has been in the series since the very beginning.

message 36: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Hair | 21 comments I liked the Brer Rabbit stories. They made things interesting. Also, I love Flaco. I am a big fan. Ditch Jaimy...go for Flaco!

message 37: by Allison (new)

Allison wrote: "never read them r they good?"

Do you mean you never read the Brer Rabbit stories? They're included as part of Rapture of the Deep. Jemimah tells Joanie and Daniel (I think?) the old slave stories to give them wisdom or something.

message 39: by Allison (new)

Allison (alanacooper) | 25 comments i haven't read Rapture yet so maybe thats why....

message 40: by Nisha (new)

Nisha (parakisu) | 3 comments While personally I like Jared, I want Jacky to end up with Jaimy. Who else can it be? They are destined to be together. He's absolutely devoted to her and she is somewhat, in her own way I guess.

Her biggest problem is not being about to sleep by herself.

message 41: by Klehmenteen (new)

Klehmenteen (kanni) | 4 comments Jacky and Jaimy are soul-mates.
I refuse to accept anything less than their marriage. But hopefully no babies, cause ew. Gross.

I also have high hopes for Joannie and Daniel. :)
