What do you all think of the cover? I think she's rather scantily dressed for the time period. I mean, it IS Jacky, but still! What about you?
she looks like she is wearing undergarments from that time period

All though Jacky is very flirtatious she always stays mostly true to Jaimy and never goes as far as she could. I think Jaimy will always be her true love but she will always give in to the temptation to flirt a bit. As Ink Mage said, she IS jacky!

I got it 2 weeks prior to the release date and read it within one night (talk about no sleep). It was a wonderful read...looking forward to Botany Bay. :)
I've finished Rapture. Didn't like it too much.
Book #8's working title is The Wake of the Lorelei Lee: Being an Account of the Adventures of Jacky Faber, on her Way to Botany Bay

Yep, I e-mailed Mr. Meyer last year and he confirmed that yes that is the working title (check his website for updates). FYI the e-mail addy is: jacky@jackyfaber.com

What did you think of the new additions? Jemima? Flaco? And the re-appearance of Tilly? Joannie? Davy? Tink?
And the Brer Rabbit stories?

Also...I love the Brer Rabbit stories...but that's because I grew up reading them and watching Song of the South...I'm from Georgia and it's part of my upbrining so to speak.

well, Jacky had a right to be mad at Tilly considering he sent her up in that kite and that was what got her hanged. I would have been cold towards him too.

Do you mean you never read the Brer Rabbit stories? They're included as part of Rapture of the Deep. Jemimah tells Joanie and Daniel (I think?) the old slave stories to give them wisdom or something.

Her biggest problem is not being about to sleep by herself.

I refuse to accept anything less than their marriage. But hopefully no babies, cause ew. Gross.
I also have high hopes for Joannie and Daniel. :)
Summary from Amazon.com:
On the very day that Jacky Faber is to wed her true love, she is kidnapped by British Naval Intelligence and forced to embark on yet another daring mission—this time to search for sunken Spanish gold. But when Jacky is involved, things don't always go as planned. Jacky has survived battles on the high seas, the stifling propriety of a Boston finishing school, and even confinement in a dank French prison. But no adventure has quite matched her opportunistic street-urchin desires—until now.
Ooooooooh, so exciting!
