Sean | 1 comments Yeah Death is great. I fell for delirium though and her non-sensical blabbering.

message 2: by Jane (new)

Jane (aludra) | 2 comments I'm such a sucker for charcters that are having to fumble their way through life. So I'll have to go with Richard Mayhew.

message 3: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 1 comments I love the under dog so I am going for Fat Charlie Nancy. It is an added bonus that the is Mr. Nancy's son too.

message 4: by J (new)

J | 3 comments I actually have more than one favourite. I love Death from Sandman, Aziraphale from Good Omens (Crowley a close second!), and Tristran & Yvaine from Stardust. I also love the fox/kitsune from The Dream Hunters.

message 5: by Janepage (new)

Janepage | 4 comments I love Coraline! I think she is so cool! Although I think Fat Charlie Nancy's humor is hilarious! Oh, can't I love them all?

message 6: by Jaime (new)

Jaime H (jaimehuff1) | 1 comments I actually really liked Hunter from Neverwhere.

message 7: by Stuart (new)

Stuart (asfus) | 3 comments Heidi wrote: "I love the under dog so I am going for Fat Charlie Nancy. It is an added bonus that the is Mr. Nancy's son too."

I second that.

I-love-green-apples! (I-Love-Green-Apples) Marquis of Carabas. Even if I had disliked Neverwhere (wich I didn't!), the book would still be worth reading if it had him in it.

And then there are Crowley, Timothy Hunter and Spider.

message 9: by miuccia (new)

miuccia (leomiu) Hm. I love Delirium and Destruction.

Although I must say, Tristan and Fat Charlie hold a special spot in my heart.

Now, when it comes to fangirl-ing over a character... Spider is the best ♥

message 10: by Djelicka (new)

Djelicka (madampillot) | 1 comments definitely FAT CHARLIE

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

I liked Wednesday from American Gods! And the Marquis of Carabas from Neverwhere. Though I also love Morpheus! Oh it's so hard to choose!

message 12: by Angie (new)

Angie | 7 comments I've got to go with either Nobody Owens (escaping assassins as a toddler is a huge feat) or Tristran Thorn (he's magical without trying). Sappy, perhaps.

message 13: by Alex (new)

Alex (alexlittlest) | 1 comments I have to say, Matthew from Sandman will always be my absolute favorite. He's such a sassy-pants and I love it. :) And, of course, Death.

message 14: by Brandi (new)

Brandi | 1 comments Hard to choose. I tend to like secondary characters that stick with me after I've put down the book. So, there's Silas (Graveyard Book), Mr. Croup (Neverwhere), and Delirium (Sandman). I have a figurine of Delirium on my work desk.

message 15: by Veronika (new)

Veronika (laceandconcrete) | 1 comments All things considered I'd have to go with Spider from Anansi Boys. But I have to admit that Mr.Croup's way of expression, to me, was the funniest thing in any Gaiman novel I have read so he's up there with my favourites aswell. And I loved Sam from American Gods, just because she's so much like me :)

message 16: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (chaitea2) | 1 comments Since I just finished Neverwhere, I would have to say Richard Mayhew. Probably because I share his fear of heights and many of his other anxieties and love the idea that someone like that can become a hero.

message 17: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (dwell_ondreams) | 7 comments This is actually harder for me to answer than "what's your favorite book/short story" because the number one thing that makes or breaks a book for me are characters. And I love so many of Neil Gaiman's characters.

Short list, aka "off the top of my head" list would have to be:

Crowley & Aziraphale
Dream & Death
Lucifer
Silas

message 18: by AimeeReneeGayle (new)

AimeeReneeGayle | 2 comments I love Neil Gaiman's characters particularly:

Death, Delirium/Delight, Dream
Tristan Thorn <3

message 19: by Joshua (new)

Joshua (joshsmacdougall) | 3 comments I am going to have to say Shadow of American Gods, I enjoy his evenness of temper in difficult situations along with his little quips and coin tricks.

message 20: by Edward (new)

Edward Lazellari Death and Dream.

message 21: by Lanie (new)

Lanie (icevamp) | 2 comments Loved Death - had been told that I resemble her somewhat. Loved her ankh and tophat. I also loved Delirium too - I would love to hang out with her and just listen to the crazy stuff just fly out of her mouth. What fun that would be!

I also loved Hunter and Marquis from Neverwhere - very interesting characters.

From Good Omens - I loved Agnes. If I were a witch, I'd be very much like her :)

message 22: by Vivienne (new)

Vivienne | 2 comments I loved Odin of course especially the play on words with his name "Wednesday" (since that day of the week was named for him). His wit was undeniably genius and even at the end, realizing what grifter he was, I still loved him!

message 23: by Richard (new)

Richard Farley | 5 comments For me, death and dream are pretty awesome, but I also dug the marquis De carabas and shadow

message 24: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (evilwinterelf) | 1 comments Dream, always Dream.

message 25: by Ann (new)

Ann (everyelegantword) | 1 comments Hmm. It's a tough choice, but I think I'd definitely have to go with Hunter from Neverwhere. I read the book once after borrowing it from a friend. And then bought it some years later believing I had not read it. I didn't get two pages in before I knew exactly which story it was and devoured it quickly over again.
But Hunter was particularly dear to me. I recall being wowed by her from the very start. As well as dear Anaesthesia. A small role, perhaps, but a vital one. I also adored Islington. Ahh who am I kidding I loved every character in this book. Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar included. This little world made me believe in magic again, even if it meant there was a good deal of evil that came with it.

As far as other books go, I loved Mr. Nancy, Ibis, Aziraphale, and that insufferable little Shadwell

message 26: by Luciana (new)

Luciana Damasceno (lucydamasceno) | 13 comments Hi everybody! I've just joined this group :) My favorite character is Dream, for sure, but Coraline has a special place in my heart.

message 27: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1 comments I have to vote for Fat Charlie in Anansi Boys!

message 28: by Walter (new)

Walter (vlodko) | 2 comments Well, Hunter from Neverwhere is right up there, as is Odin/Wednesday. But my heart has a special place for Zorya Polunochnaya from American Gods.

message 29: by Kari (new)

Kari Bee | 1 comments My Favorite Character is Shadow (Moon)

message 30: by David (new)

David (davidh219) Death, Dream, and Destruction.

The Hempstocks from Ocean.

message 31: by Joel (new)

Joel (h_incandenza) | 3 comments Czernobog from American Gods would have to be up there for me.

message 32: by Walter (new)

Walter Kovacs | 1 comments Shadow just because.

message 33: by Iana (new)

Iana (yaniyow) | 3 comments Delirium and Desire.

...and everyone from Good Omens.
