Kara Gillian Series Re-Read
I love this series I will probably start in November that way I can space them so I am ready for the new one :-)
Dawn wrote: "I love this series I will probably start in November that way I can space them so I am ready for the new one :-)"Is it even possible to be ready for the new one?? I mean... wow! With the way Sins ended, ANYTHING could happen in the next one! :)
I'm in, but like Dawn I'll probably start around November so they're fresh in my head for the new one :)
Start reading whenever it suits you Nairabell. Just remember to drop in here to give us your thoughts :D
I'd love to take part in this as I intend to re-read the series anyway, but it'll probably be well into October before I can start, as I've got too much going on before then.Look forward to chatting with you all! :)
I'd like to join in, but it won't be for a few weeks yet,say late October. I've already read the series three times now, so I should be OK even though I'm starting late. I even read her White Trash Zombie series last week, even though I had vowed to myself I wouldn't. Boredom can really affect your better judgement. The Zombie books were OK (3 stars each), but for laugh out-loud humor you're better off with Molly Harper any day of the week.
Anyway, count me in, please.

Although, it might not work if you want to read them all at once cos you read much faster than me (I can only do about one book a week). No problem either way. :)

That would work for me. I'll mix in other books so that I don't get ahead of you.
And the new Midnight's Daughter is going to have to be top end to beat the latest October Daye book! Toby's my girl right now, although she doesn't have quite the kill count as Dory; maybe she'll up it in the next book. LOL!

Read some interesting tweets from Diana Rowland on Twitter, which I thought I'd share, for those who don't follow her. She sent some tweets to author Jenna Black:"Final wordcount of Touch of the Demon: 163K. Oh yeah, shit's about to get serious in the demon realm."
"People are going to love me or hate me after this book. :-D"
"I *might* not have played by the rules.. Mwahahahahahaha!"
What a tease!! I can't wait for the next book (she says it's due out on 31st December)
Does anyone have any idea how many pages (roughly) 163K words translates to? I was thinking it must be at least 500 pages, but I'm not sure.
Nooooooo! not going there!Sorry Ann, but I need the whole book :DDDD
OK starting my re-read of Mark of the Demon, today. I plan to do one a month in prep for the newbie, though I've left this one almost too late for Sept. LOL
There must be multiple re-reads going on with this series - we have another one where we're at book three going on four. I guess I'm confused as to which one I'm in.

I just finished up
. I was surprised at how much I didn't remember from the book. I have so many questions, but most of them are me trying to remember things that happen is book 2 & 3. I think Diana Rowland loves doing the "I'm not what I seem" with all of her characters.

Duane, you can share your thoughts with both of us, can't you? LOL
Gin wrote: "I just finished up

I think this is what makes this a good series. You just don't read the book and think this is the same as every other book. It makes you wonder about the characters and what will happen next.
Will the Aunt ever be back to full strength? What is Ryan really? What Oath did he break? Why does Ryan have a minder demon? Why is Rhyzkahl so keen to come to earth and play on the computer? Etc, etc.
I really like that Rhyzkahl!Funny how you learn a little but really you don't know much of anything lol
Wait I do think we know what Ryan is like from the most recent book right but the oath thing is the questions of the day.
Well, I'm pretty sure we know what Ryan is, but Diana hasn't come out and said definitely. It's all just innuendo at this point.
I'm reading this series for the first time and loving it! I've torn through the first 3 and I'm trying to put off book 4 till closer to the time that book 5 comes out but I don't know if that will be possible or not!?!?
Rachael wrote: "Yeah I'm probably not going to hold out for much longer but at least December isn't far away!"Did you hold off or read?? :)
Finished my re-read of
last night. This is the earth elemental golem one and where Kara gets herself a demon protector and figures out what Ryan really is.
She also discovers that Rhyzkahl has been using her computer but doesn't know why yet. That has me really interested! Why does he need the computer?
Like Rachael I'm hanging for #5, even though I still have to re-read #4 :D
I remember really liking that one Sandra. I think I might skip the second and move straight to that one. Was there a lot of important stuff revealed in the second, I don't remember?
Gin wrote: "I remember really liking that one Sandra. I think I might skip the second and move straight to that one. Like.. skim over the mystery/crime aspect and pay closer attention to Ryan, Rhyzkahl and Kara interactions.
Dawn wrote: "I do think we know what Ryan is from the most recent book right but the oath thing is the question of the day."The question that comes up for me apart from why he is memory-wiped on Earth, and what oath he broke, is the one of what happens if/when his memories do return.
Would Szerain be anything like Ryan as far as his attraction to Kara, or would all that be gone? Would he even remember it, or would it be replaced/overshadowed by his memory as Szerain? And what the heck would it do to his personality (not that Ryan's personality couldn't use a little boost! hahaha)? How much of Ryan is 'real'?
A new no-spoilers review is up on the Night Owl Paranormal site. Five stars again!http://www.nightowlreviews.com/v5/Rev...
Diana Rowland knows what Urban Fantasy readers want and she delivers every time! Touch of the Demon is a full UF ride. It has so many ups and downs and winding curves it leaves you craving your next ride. I loved, yes loved Touch of the Demon. Kara has so many ups and downs, betrayals, almost love interests, and wtf moments that I truly felt I had read 3 books in one. As always the characters are well written and will either leave you loving them or hating them. This is a well written book that captures the world of the demon realm and its characters. Ms. Rowland gets two thumbs up for a job well done. I absolutely cannot wait for more!!!
Sandra wrote: "Not me, I'm keeping well away till I have the whole book. LOL."Smart. Very very smart. :) Not long now.
From the reviews it sounds like at least a large chunk of Touch/5 takes place in the demon realm. I'm interested to see how that unfolds. It's definitely different than working as a cop and acting, albeit hidden at times, within that system and structure. No sergeants, autopsies, etc. 'Laws' unknown.
Can't wait!
