That's funny about the Kent family series, because I did the same thing - except that I got to the last one, and never read it! I also read the first one in his North and South series, and really liked it, but never read the sequels! I have no idea why, because I really liked both series, and I almost always finish a series that I am reading. I keep thinking that some day I will go back and finish them up, but so far it hasn't happened - probably because there are so many great newer books that are on my TBR stacks!
Whatever you read - Happy Reading! (I think it should count if you read ANY of the Kent family series, so consider them all recommended by me....heehee!)
Katie...here's what I rounded up for you (please don't hesitate to let me know if you needs any changes)1) Turkey
OR
2) Mashed Potatoes:
(I read this and really like it) OR
3) Gravy
OR
4)
OR
Hope these work for you, if not, please let me know :)

I got the first at the library and loved it so much I had to hunt down the other two - I read all three 800+ page books within 2 weeks! And this is without reading for about 10 years!

OR[bookcover:The Celestial|15836..."These picks are just fine, Jensine. :) I think I'll read Bicycle Built for Two. Thanks!

Hi Joyce,Sorry about the late entry but I'm away at the moment and I've managed to borrow a PC. If the picks aren't any good let me know and I'll be home on the 2nd and I can give you some different choices.
Turkey Dinner
Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness - I see you've read the first book and want to read the second. It's really good and builds the story really well.
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffennegger - You love it or hate it as far as I can tell.
Mashed Potatoes
A Touch of Greek by Tina Folsom
Truly Madly Yours by Rachel Gibson - I don't think fluffy and light is really your cup of tea but I hope you enjoy one of them.
Gravy
Covet by J R Ward - yummy cover, yummy story
Sweet Dreams by Kristin Ashley - the yummiest story I've read for a long time (It's part of a series but is also completely stand alone).
Pumpkin Pie
Cake Icing, Butt Budder & Tea Lids by Renee Andrews - difficult topic but this book was a rare sweet book that I enjoyed.
Once again sorry about the rush but if nothing suits let me know and I'll repick on the 2nd.

Reading is my stress-relief as well although I only have one son. Enjoy!
Hey Carla,
I finished A Girl Like you by Gemma Burgess and it was AWESOME! It got me out of my book funk. So thank you!

pst Rena - its Nov 1st year (unless you are in Europe or beyond...) - so you can't technically read your recommendations
Rena Reads Romance wrote: "Hey Carla,I finished A Girl Like you by Gemma Burgess and it was AWESOME! It got me out of my book funk. So thank you!"
Yea for getting out of book funk! But like Dee said, the book needs to be read within the month to count for the challenge.
Fran,I just read slave to sensation and loved it! I dont know why I had put off reading it for so long. In fact I already ordered the second book.
UAmandaThanks for the picks. I am going to read two or three of them.
Sweet Talk by Susan Mallory
Shut Up and Kiss Me by Chistie Craig
On Dublin Street by Samantha Young (possibly)
Ashley wrote: "Fran,I just read slave to sensation and loved it! I dont know why I had put off reading it for so long. In fact I already ordered the second book.
"Great! I'm so glad you loved it :)
Fran wrote: "Ashley,Let me know if you want to borrow Hyde. No rush, any time."
Okay it will probably be a week or so. Let me know when you are ready for On Dublin Street.

I finished Desire for Three it was really good , loved the story and i needed lots of cold shower , i gave it 4 stars
Glad you liked it Ab2y :) For me the series got even better later, and the two historical books about beginning of this town were also good
Renee wrote: "Hi, JoJo! I must admit, I was a little overwhelmed with your TBR list! Hopefully you'll find a few that look good. :-)1. Turkey: The meat of the meal, suggest books that are intense or emotional,..."
Renee - thanks for the great picks I'm definitely going to read Lady Luck and Sugar Creek this month and hopefully a couple of others.
Grace, I just finished
and it was decent enough but not really for my tastes. I will probably read
next since it's one of the books that's been longest on my TBR shelf and it's time it leaves it :)
Gea wrote: "Glad you liked it Ab2y :) For me the series got even better later, and the two historical books about beginning of this town were also good"I can't wait to read more but i have to read lots of books for challenges :)
I finished my first pick Anna and the French Kiss. It was a cute light YA romance. I really liked that it was set in Paris, France. That has always been my dream vacation spot. So it was a cute little story and I am giving it three stars.

Oh dear; let me know if you need a re-pick. I want to read A Girl Like You, too--I'm glad to hear that it was as good as it looked.
I finished
. Not at all what I expected! I'm a huge fan of LK's historicals, and I've read the three Friday Harbor books. I expected this to be a formulaic contemporary romance, but instead it's the story of a strong and determined young woman who sacrifices everything to care for her baby sister. Yes, there is romance, but it's not the main focus of the story, which for me was refreshing. I'll definitely read the next in this series! Thanks for the nudge to read it, Vi!
Oh that's so good to hear, Sandy. I like the book for the exact reason too! In the next two books though, the focus is back on the romance but it's still character-driven. I'm so glad you liked the book :)
Dolores wrote: "Ok Yz the Whyz here are your picks :) I hope you like them if not please let me know and I can pick diffrent ones!Turkey: Bared To You (Cross fire #1)By Sylvia Day OR Naked ( the Blacstone Affai..."
Hi, Dolores. Sorry for the late reply.
Love the recs. At first glance, I think I'm going to go for Sylvia Day's Bared to You or Kortny Alexander's Give Me More.
Thanks for the great choices.
I needed something sweet, so I decided to read one of my Pumpkin Pie picks from Kami. Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor #1) by Jill Shalvis certainly fit the bill as a cute, irresistibly sweet story. Just what I was craving! I immediately bought the sequel. Thanks for the great pick, Kami!

Hi Renee, I finished Lady Luck at the weekend but forgot to post on here. Kristen Ashley is a new author to me and this is the 3rd book I've read. Just like the previous books it was fantastic, I really love the heroes in her books but the heroines are really likeable too.
Jojo wrote: "Hi Renee, I finished Lady Luck at the weekend but forgot to post on here. Kristen Ashley is a new author to me and this is the 3rd book I've read. Just like the previous books it was fantastic,..."
So glad you liked it!! She's a newer author to me, too and I totally agree. She knows how to write her manly men!
I've finished my first two picks - A Wedding Story, which was super short but light and cute, and Hearts in Darkness, which was also rather short, but AMAZING! Thanks for the great picks, Nikki, I'm definitely planning on reading a few more before the month is over.
Lexa,I finished two of your picks while I was traveling in the last two days - Rocky Road to Romance by Janet Evanovich, which was cute and fun, and Virgin River by Robyn Carr. I absolutely LOVED that one, and am going to find the next ones in that series right away. It was definitely a feel-good book, but what I loved was that the characters were human, and some of them, oh, so quirky! My kind of book!
I am also planning to read more of your picks, too, even with some of the other challenges I am doing. Definitely the Molly Harper one, and I haven't decided what else. Thanks for the great picks!
I've finished my first pick for this month, A Walk to Remember. Nicholas Sparks is an author who balances the fine line of really presenting a great lovestory or going absolutely over the top dramatic with it.
Sometimes it works out really well but in this book it didn't.
~KarenH~ wrote: "I've finished my first two picks - A Wedding Story, which was super short but light and cute, and Hearts in Darkness, which was also rather short, but AMAZING! Thanks for the great picks, Nikki, ...":) Glad you liked them! I enjoyed both those too!
I am starting Beast Behaving Badly and so excited to get back to this series!
skandia--Looks like we both finished our first picks. I finished Virgin River tonight. I liked the book. I will have to read the next one in the series.
Ruth Ann wrote: "skandia--Looks like we both finished our first picks. I finished Virgin River tonight. I liked the book. I will have to read the next one in the series."I'm glad you liked it! This series is my comfort read.
