message 7051: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Maybe not sandwiches, but plain bananas and milk are always welcome in my tummy. Mmm-mmm-mmm!

TPBM wonders how Harry and Marv from Home Alone are even alive after all the physical torture they’ve been put through by Kevin’s traps.

message 7052: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope. It is a live action cartoon, and so belief is completely suspended.

TPBM finds that they can easily suspend belief with good writing, but that bad writing undermines that by being jarring and discordant.

message 7053: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I agree with that wholeheartedly, Guy. I used to watch a lot of action movies when I was younger, so it never once crossed my mind that one hard martial arts kick could be the difference between life and death.

TPBM would never buy flowers from a place called Domestic Violets.

message 7054: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I would not use the word 'never', because it is like daring God (or whatever) to have you eat crow, but I would think it very unlikely.

TPBM likes the creativity of the series premise of a person getting killed from a toilet seat that fell from the international space station, even though s/he knows that the toilet seat would most likely be burnt to ashes before it actually hit anyone.

message 7055: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments As long as that premise happened at the start of the series instead of the end, yes, I can see the creativity in that. If it happened at the end, it would sound too much like Deus Ex Machina.

TPBM sometimes refers to the sun as a "pyrocosm".

message 7056: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope. It seems like a funny word, and makes the sun sound bigger than it is.

TPBM is currently studying and researching a topic of interest, but not from an 'official' school course.

message 7057: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I do all of my research on Wikipedia, which is probably a sign of laziness from me, but until the article says "Neutrality Disputed", then it'll have to do for now.

TPBM is a Carl Hiaasen fan.

message 7058: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not yet because I do not recognize the name.

TPBM keeps a pen and paper journal.

message 7059: by Novia (new)

Novia Several.

TPBM prefers to do their writing long-hand

message 7060: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Definitely. I've tried to use short hams for my lecture notes, but I don't like it.

TPBM is a registered voter

message 7061: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I am and I vote for liberal causes and politicians.

TPBM watched episodes of Seinfeld recently and just now realized how dark some of the humor is.

KRAMER: Things are going pretty well for me here in Hollywood. I met a girl.
JERRY: Kramer, she was murdered!
KRAMER: Yeah, well, I wasn’t looking for a long-term relationship anyways.

message 7062: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments I haven't watched Seinfeld in a while, but I've noticed the humor.

TPBM just ate, was about to eat or is eating now.

message 7063: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments As soon as WWE Raw comes on TV, I'm going to wolf down a bag of White Cheddar Doritos. Does that count?

TPBM can see the creative merit in recycling an abandoned grocery store building into a concert hall (in my hometown of Port Orchard, Washington, Hagen’s Grocery Store filed for bankruptcy and their building is just sitting there dead as a doornail).

message 7064: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Food is food.

I can't see through your eyes, so now.

TPBM is thirsty?

message 7065: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I'm satisfying that thirst with a big ol' can of Coca-Cola. Yum!

Whenever TPBM orders a Heath Blizzard at Dairy Queen, he or she makes jokes about grinding up pieces of a guy named Heath and putting him in ice cream.

message 7066: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments What's a Dairy Queen?

going offline, have a good night Garrison :)

TPBM is watching TV?

message 7067: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Yes, I'm watching TV even as we speak. I'm watching WWE Raw and the Divas match between Charlotte and Brie Bella was cancelled when Becky Lynch beat the crap out of Charlotte. Great stuff.

To answer your question, Dairy Queen is a fast food restaurant that specializes in ice cream. Mmm-mmm-mmm!

TPBM’s favorite snack is chips and salsa.

message 7068: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope. My snack food has gotten strange: yoghurt with fruit and nuts.

TPBM slept in this morning.

message 7069: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) I got up earlier than usual, just couldn't sleep.

TPBM has heard of painting a wall using a projector as a guide.

message 7070: by James (new)

James Flamel (a_golden_leaf_in_winter) | 136 comments That's probably the only way I'd be able to do it.

TPBM agrees that colors are perceived differently by different people.

Article: Color Perception: livescience.com

message 7071: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments I would agree with that thought.

TPBM finds the color pink to be quite obnoxious.

message 7072: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (last edited Jan 12, 2016 12:08PM) (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Not really but I DO find puke green to be noxious....

(sorry bad joke. Really bad. Just looked it up and thinking it meant makes someone sick. Nope, haha).

But in all seriousness I do think it is now that you mention it. A pink with a few tints would probably be better in my opinion.

And Guy I saw your comment at #7111. I went off of the site too fast that night I feel you wanted me to respond and didn't sorry. I DO love to make something later when I see it on tv. In fact I've done that at least once or twice!

--------

TPBM finds Goodreads' new font style hard on the eyes.

message 7073: by Guy (last edited Jan 12, 2016 12:26PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do a little. And wonder if that is just the natural antipathy towards changes in things with which we have grown comfortable.

TPBM prefers to write in plain text editors and not word processors.

[CJ - thank you for thinking of me, but I do not put expectations on my posts. I just throw them out there and let them fall where they will. Have a great day.]

message 7074: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I use the most basic version of Microsoft Works Word Processor. Would that count as a plain text editor (as opposed to Microsoft Office Word)?

TPBM would not buy art supplies from a place called Paint & Suffering.

message 7075: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Lol! Nope. But I did once when I lost my sense of smell. When it started to return Omg!

TPBM just finished buying nuts and fruit.

message 7076: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Nope.

TPBM likes pumpkin pie.

message 7077: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Oops. Wrong TPBM.

Nope. I'm not writing.

Same TPBM about nuts and fruit.

message 7078: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Not at the moment.

TPBM made breakfast today?

message 7079: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I didn't eat breakfast today. Most of my morning was spent either laying in bed or being on the phone with the Social Security offices and listening to their god-awful on-hold music.

TPBM thinks the two burglars from the movie Home Alone look like sexual predators.

message 7080: by Pearl (new)

Pearl Winthrop | 12 comments i think home alone is a thing of the past.
No, hetero and solvent good.

Tpmb thinks poems about sunflowers inspire people at nasa?

message 7081: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Lol! I can't imagine that I could think that!

TPBM knows someone who works at NASA.

message 7082: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments No but that would have been interesting.

TPBM gets excited when they get to cook something they've never made before!

message 7083: by James (new)

James Flamel (a_golden_leaf_in_winter) | 136 comments I get excited when whatever I cook doesn't end up catching fire or giving me food poisoning.

TPBM thinks about emergency escape routes whenever visiting a new building.

message 7084: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope. Not at all.

TPBM thinks that pessimists who say that they are 'just' being realistic is proof that they are the exact opposite because 99% of the time pessimists' predictions are wrong.

message 7085: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) Acknowledging that something could go wrong is realistic, insisting it will isn't.

TPBM hates finding a good book at the library only to find it's a trilogy and the other two(or just the middle one) are nowhere to be found.

message 7086: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (last edited Jan 13, 2016 08:18PM) (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Yeah I don't like having that happen in the bookstore either. Sometimes bookstores don't have the others or I see one it interests me but I find out later it's #7 in a long series. I just put it back.

TPBM likes changing up the genre they read at times.

message 7087: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I read mostly non-genre fiction, although my non-fiction has been circumscribed to philosophy and psychology, but everything from Greek Epictetus and Roman Marcus Aurelius, to Indian Upanishads, to Chinese Taoist.

TPBM is listening to radio on-line while writing on-line tonight.

message 7088: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I listened to the Harold Budd album "The Room" when I wrote and submitted "I Owe You Nothing" this evening. New age music helps me relax when the creative urge hits me.

TPBM wants a copy of the Nintendo Wii U game "Super Mario Maker".

message 7089: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not at this time.

TPBM starts the morning with exercise of some kind.

message 7090: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments Some mornings I do, depends on how I am feeling.

TPBM considers them-self to be a healthy person.

message 7091: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Aside from being overweight, yes, I'd say that's at least partially true for me.

TPBM sometimes refers to a clock or a watch as a "chronometer".

message 7092: by Guy (last edited Jan 14, 2016 01:38PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No, but I could see that coming from the tongue of a fictional character.

TPBM has a new job lined up.

message 7093: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Not really, though when the election primaries come up, I'm planning to work at one of the polls for a day.

TPBM finds themselves very distracted lately

message 7094: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes and no. I am able to concentrate well on most things, but am struggling to complete a course manual.

TPBM knows the definition of prana.

message 7095: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I'd have to look that up on Dictionary.com to find out.

TPBM has at least one character in his or her stories whose occupation is an archer.

message 7096: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I'm sure I have at least one, especially since I went through an archer obsession while reading The Ranger's Apprentice.

TPBM has a long list of things to do this weekend

message 7097: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not more than any weekend, so, yes, long.

TPBM loves Paul Simon's Graceland album.

message 7098: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) I've never heard anything by him.

TPBM has a book of short stories they haven't finished after a long time because they just read a story from it occasionally.

message 7099: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Yep, I think I do. It's a gigantic book about all of Edgar Allan Poe's works.

And Garrison I know how you feel. I wish I could play Super Mario Maker too. My only problem I have about that is I don't own a Wii U (hehe)!!

TPBM loves to schedule out their day/week.

message 7100: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I love to schedule out my day, but only with creative activities. The sad part is, though, I rarely stick to my schedule.

CJ and I had a meeting of the minds! Awesome sauce! :)

TPBM thinks it’s scary that celebrities have been dying off left and right recently (examples include Lemmy from Motorhead, David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Brian Bedford, David Margulies, and Tera Wray).
