it was amazing

I rarely pick a 5 five star rating for the books I review, and I guess this opinion is biased also by the book genre. I love fantasy, and I loved this story.

Karen Lord does a great job not only in depicting such wonderful worlds, full of so many different human races, but it also brings in two very compelling characters. Grace Delarua, the main character is not only relatable, but a fun character to follow in this not only fantasy story but also a romantic one. The nature of her relationship with sadiri Dllenahkh makes you stay on the tip of your toes as they go through so many experiences with their team expedition.

The fictitious world is also very enticing. The characteristics of each human race, their focus on developing mental skills such as telepathy through meditation carries you into the possibilities of the potential of the mind and in the ability to control your reaction to situations. I personally loved this theme.

I read the translated version of this book in Spanish, so I can't comment accurately on the writing skills of Lord, but from the dialogues, I can totally extract her power of writing and depicting characters. Totally recommended for fantasy lovers or any lover of a good romantic story.
