it was amazing

This fascinating story, told from an unusual viewpoint – using the second person (you) pov – caught me from the start. I loved the tension and Leckie’s handling of the perspective from a god who has lived a very long time. It was a tricky narrative to pull off, as the backstory was long and complicated and there was a section three-quarters of the way into this engrossing read when I feared the narrative drive was starting to be derailed. However, Leckie managed to regather the momentum and bring this book to a remarkable ending I was not expecting. Accomplished and unsettling, this one is highly recommended.
