DNF'd at 30%, which is about 50 pages more than I normally give a book as it is a netgalley book. I really wanted to love this book -- I love revenge stories, I love Macbeth, I love the idea of infiltrating a school to take down the boys who sexually assaulted you. I love that this book has content warnings from the beginning - that is AMAZING.

What I don't love is really everything else. The characters all feel flat and kind of terrible. Not to say the main character deserved to be assaulted (no one does, no matter how terrible they are), but she is a horrible person. Also, whose parents roll over and let their kid do whatever they want to do from the stand point that they can tell murder is the plan when their kid has been sexually assaulted?

I also hate that for a book that is all about revenge for sexual assault, there is so much use of slut and bitch that I cannot handle. "slut-red BMW convertible" for example.

There is a good story in here, somewhere. I love that the head girl of the new school knows what's going on, and how much it has deadened her inside. And maybe she helps by the end -- honestly that's the story I would have loved to read.

I can spend belief for a bit, but this book is unfortunately asking me to do too much of that.

Thank you Netgalley and Wednesday Books for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
