I fully admire how politically applicable this series is, and how the story is clever and intricate and very very intelligent. It was very plot driven, and there are a lot of characters. So you do feel like an impartial viewer. I have to admit, I'm more of a character-focused reader. I was waiting for Citra and Rowan to take over the story, and I wanted to feel all the things for them, but they were maybe in...less than half of the book? The book ended up being about the scythe world and it's falling into corruption and the Thunderhead's complex plans to save the world. It was long. Oh, so long. There were so many narratives to follow and characters to remember. I wanted to know how it would end, but I felt less than invested because I couldn't connect to any characters.

I really like Greyson and the Thunderhead, but I still don't get why Greyson was chosen. But I shipped them LOL.

For me, the finale finished up as something I admire and think is an excellent work, although it didn't quite work for my particular tastes in the conclusion. Scythe remains my favourite of the trilogy!

Laura Trenham Scythe was my favourite of the trilogy too. He peaked with his world building and character development in that one.

message 2: by Hailey (new) - added it

Hailey Hudson I got this from the library this week and was SO excited... then I noticed how long it is, and noticed Rowan and Citra weren’t in it much, and now I’m not as excited to read it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Courtney (bookplaces) I ship Grayson and the Thunderhead too😂❤
