Solid 4.25/5.
I received this book at Bookcon last May, and I am so incredibly mad at myself for letting it sit on the shelf for as long as it did. I can't explain why it did — part of me forgot it was there, and part of me just wasn't ready to read it I guess?
I refuse to relate this book to THUG, because I don't think that's fair at all. Just a heads up.
Nic Stone — you are an engaging, amazing writer. And I have already added your next book to my list, and I cannot wait to read more of your work. I read this entire book in a day, reading while walking, reading in the subway, reading despite how dark and maybe I shouldn't read? I did it all.
My major, major complaint with this book? It's too much in too few of pages. And I mean that so much as a compliment. Three different A stories are trying to compete here, and a B plot that I didn't quite understand how it entirely fit in. And really, add another 200 pages, and it would have been absolutely perfect!
