it was amazing
bookshelves: historical-fiction, young-adult, published-2016, read-2018, stars-5

There's a lot of emotion finishing this book, and knowing that I have two more in the series. While I am usually very excited to know the next book (or in this case, the entire series) is done and out so I can rush through it all, I cannot bring myself to do so with Front Lines.

What I have come to love about Michael Grant's writing is that he refuses to hold back, but also doesn't do things just for the scare/gore/shock factor. This book is about World War II, and yet I still found myself cringing inwardly as the book progressed from basic training to actual war. I wanted to put the book down, say no thank you, and yet I kept reading. I need my girls to make it through this war safely.

I seriously don't know how I feel ending this book. Exhausted mostly, ready for something incredibly light and fun (oh wait, I partner read this with This Body's Not Big Enough for Both of Us, shouldn't I be okay??) It'll definitely be a little while before I pick up book 2, but I am excited for it.
