it was amazing

There's just something about Gabriel Garcia-Marquez's books. Every word is beautiful and a joy to read. I loved Memories possibly even more than 100 Years of Solitude and Chronicle of a Death Foretold because of its tiny size. It lacks the strong plot of Chronicle and the epic and interwoven character web of 100 Years. This novella really showcases Marquez's talents with language and expression, something much more rare than the ability to come up with a good story. This novella showed me that I can still have fun reading without an extensive analysis. Memories of my Melancholy Whores made me feel first and think later.
