it was amazing

I purchased this novel because I adored the first book in the series, 'Leap the Wild Water'. Since reading the final page of Ms. Lloyd’s story, I have felt a deep sense of loss. 'The Calling of the Raven' moved me as few other novels have been able to. I did not want it to end. Once again, the author has managed to capture the human spirit with a power, grace and beauty that takes your breath away. She weaves an evocative tale, allowing several characters to speak in first person, thereby allowing the reader to truly feel as the characters feel. As with 'Leap the Wild Water' Ms. Lloyd has incorporated a love of dogs and nature into her tale. I felt as though I could reach out and touch the wild flowers carpeting the Welsh countryside. Without preaching, Ms. Lloyd sends a powerful message. No matter where in the world or what period in history, women are not possessions but equals who deserve to be treated with care and respect. Megan, Morgan, Beulah, Fortune, Dafydd and Branwen will stay with me for a very long time. This author has gained my respect. I will be counting the days until I can once again lose myself in a tale written my Jenny Lloyd.

Jenny Lloyd Dear Megan,
Thank you so very much for this truly moving review of The Calling of the Raven. I never dared hope that anyone reading it would come to feel as deeply about my characters as I did myself. While writing, they were as real to me as my own flesh and blood!
