liked it

** spoiler alert ** Loved the first section of the book. It was a fast and enjoyable read. Alcestis was smart and likable. Then things got confusing. And sad. She is reduced by the 'affection' of a god from being relatively content in her life to utter loneliness. Previously her only complaint about her husband was his affair with Apolo. Having been loved by a god herself brought her closer to her husband only in the sense that she better understood his desperate love. On another level, the book was a fascinating look at the world through a non-scientific, non-christian lens.
