really liked it

This is a compelling story about a young man, psychologically mute from a childhood trauma, who gets coerced into a stint as a safe cracker. Opening the safes, of course, is also a personal challenge that frees him, bit by bit, from his own locked-in nature. Although on some level, the book is a hard-boiled crime story, it’s also a love story. I enjoyed the novel very much. Full disclosure: I skipped the long safe-cracking scenes. I didn't need that much detail.
