really liked it
bookshelves: 2014, young-adult, contemporary

If I had a teenage daughter, I would happily hand her this book to read for a few different reasons. 1. Strong, positive female friendships. I love that Gigi, Bea, and Neerja are able to put their friendship first and support each other no matter what. 2. Female characters that have goals, intelligence and morals. These girls are smart but inexperienced (when it comes to boys) and they aren't ashamed of that. In no way is that portrayed as a negative. 3. The importance of learning not to pigeonhole yourself or others, a lesson I wish I had learned in high school. The three friends push themselves out of their comfort zone and grow because of it and learn its easy to stereotype people but there's so much more than meets the eye. Just a really cute, fun book with a great message.
