really liked it
bookshelves: 2010
Read from April 09 to May 03, 2010

In some ways it's very obviously a debut novel, but I was surprised at how moving and harrowing I found parts of this novel, and it certainly went places I didn't expect it to (I also didn't see the twist coming at the end of Fight Club; sometimes I am blind to changes in tack others see coming far in advance, but knowing that doesn't make me like them any less). Blue really became real to me over the length of the book, even if no-one else really did, and her hyper-referenced, overthought life touched me.
