Recommended for: those who liked about a boy, tony hawk fans. :)

My boyfriend's sister loaned me her copy to read. She works in a bookstore and has an exclusive edition...

After being unimpressed by his last two books, so far this one is a bit more refreshing. Seems most closely linked to About a Boy, my favorite of Hornby's novels.

More to come...

Update 12.11.07
I just finished reading this last night. Overall I enjoyed this book more than his previous two, but it wasn't quite up to About A Boy/High Fidelity/Fever Pitch status. Sadly, I just don't think Hornby spends enough time developing his characters anymore. One thing is still true though--he will never stop writing about flawed male characters that you end up rooting for. I think I wanted to like this book more than I do. I did enjoy reading it, but I don't have a lasting sense of enjoyment.
