The Seventh U. S. Cavalry's Own Colonel Tommy Tompkins: A Military Heritage and Tradition

Great genealogical information on the Tompkins family, but way too little detail on the career of the gruff cavalry colonel himself. One short chapter to cover over 41 years in the saddle. Left me wanting to know more about his service, and less about his extended family and ancestors. Outstanding photographs.
