description

I can't think of the last time a book had me sitting on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, and holding my breath. Opposition captivated and enthralled me from the first heart-pounding page to the last. I LOVED IT!

I am so sad to see this series eqnd. I have LOVED watching Katy's and Daemon's characters grow and mature over the course of the books.

Katy began this series as a lovable and strong character who was obstinate, and sometimes even pigheaded. By the final book, she'd grown into a stronger, more lovable, admirable, resilient, and courageous version of herself. She ended up one of the best YA female leads I've read to date.

As for Daemon, well, he'll always be his arrogant, lovable, sarcastic, loyal, charming, and egoistical self. But he's also not the same stubborn, human-snubbing boy who first opened his door to Katy and treated her so horribly. He grew into a man that acknowledged some of his beliefs were wrong and PROVED he would do ANYTHING for the woman he loved.

For me, the area I felt Katy and Daemon grew the most was in their gradual realization that they were stronger together than apart. By the fourth book they were a solid team and knew their greatest strength and power was in relying on each other. Their complex and awesome relationship was what I loved the most about the Lux series.

I can't end my review without expressing how grateful I am I read Obsession, an adult spinoff of this series. Had I not read Obsession, I would have never pick up Obsidian, the first book in the Lux series, and I would have forever missed out on an amazing Young Adult read.

I can wholeheartedly say that I have loved every single second I've spend with Daemon, Katy and the rest of the motley cast of characters. It's always bittersweet to say goodbye to a much loved series, especially one that will forever hold a piece of my heart.

Side Note: As a THANK YOU for Opposition hitting the USA Today Bestseller’s list at number 34 and put the Lux Series on the New York Times YA Series list at number 4 this week, Jennifer Armentrout gave us a taste of Daemon and Kat, a few years after Opposition. I couldn't stop smiling while reading it.

Enjoy!

Thanks Ingela. I was so surprised at how much I loved this series. What I loved is the author matured the characters, and the plot, as the story progressed. This last two book had a mature feel and I appreciated that.

I'm doing good. My daughter is settled and loving Boston, which makes her being so far away from home okay. ❤️

Kristen Penelope wrote: "Lovely review, Kristen! Looks like another series I'm gonna have to get in to. :)"

Thank you, Penelope. I'm not a YA reader but I wholeheartedly recommend this series. Well, unless you hate YA, then I'd say skip it. Lol.

Thank you so much, hon. It really is hard to say goodbye to loved characters. I'm still a little shocked at how much I loved a YA series. Lol. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you, Lisa! Time is such an issue for book lovers. There are so many books I want to read and no time to read them all. ❤️

Lana ❇✾Dirty Girl Romance❇✾ Wonderful review, Kristen! I keep wanting to read the spin off, but I kept thinking I'd have to read this series first and I don't really read YA often anymore. I think I'm gonna have to give both the series a try now :)

Kristen Thanks Lkay. I know exactly how you feel. I read Obsession without realizing it was a spinoff book of this series. I would have NEVER read the Lux series if it wasn't for the fact I was so curious about the Luxen. I knew the main characters of this series were Luxen, but the hero of Opposition was an Arum, the Luxen's natural enemy. I just couldn't help myself and started the Lux series to find out the whole story. I'm so glad I did.

The first book has a very YA feel, and there is no sex until the third book, but as the series progressed, so did the maturity. The last two books had a very mature feel for a YA. I loved that the author matured her characters along with their relationship.

It's a great YA series. ❤️

Thanks Tammie. I'm not familiar with the book shadows. Do you have a link for it? I looked for it but I'm not sure if the one I found is the correct book.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the Lux series. The books just get better and better. Don't forget to read Obsession before you start Origin. It will help you realize nothing is quite what it seems. ❤️

Kristin (KC) - Traveling Sister Such a lovely review/tribute to this series <33

Kristen Thank you, hon. This series means a lot to me so I loved spilling my heart-and-soul into my goodbye.

Denise ~The Procrastinating Book Diva~ Fantastic review Kristen :) I know neither one of us is a huge YA fan, so this must be a pretty phenomenal series for you to love it as much as you do. Definitely worth considering.

Thank you, Denise. The first two books have a very YA feel but I was hooked and had to continue on. What I love about this series is the author matured each book as the overall plot continued on. The last two books have a mature feel and I think that's why I loved them so much.

My suggestion would be that if you want to read this series, start with Obsession. It will entice you enough about the over all plot that you'll want to read the Lux series. There are no spoilers in Obsession to the overall plot of the Lux series. All it will do is let you know that there are always two sides to a story. I hope you give the series a try. I think you'll like it if you read the books in the order that I did. ❤️

Brenda Kristen this series seem to have captured your attention. I love your reviews for this series, whether its been few words or more detailed. This review is GREAT! I am going to add Book 1 and try it :)

Kristen Thanks Brenda. I really enjoyed this series. Just know that the first two books are very YA. Don't forget to read Obsession after you finish Opal. I read that Obsession first, which is what I'd suggest doing if you're not a fan of the YA genre. ❤️
