I thought the book was a fairly easy read and entertaining, though had some pointed issues including Libby overcoming her purported anger/hatred rather suddenly and with no explanation. There's also a plot point in the book that's possibly one of my least favorite tropes an author can use (it would be a spoiler to tell you what it is), but that's clearly an issue on my end, not the author's, though I do think it was dealt with rather quickly at the end with no real emotional conclusion that the reader can see. Last, the book reads like paranormal romance but the ending is rather abrupt and we don't get a good look at how the characters are going to work this all out. I'm guessing we'll be seeing them again as secondary characters in future books, as there was a lot of series bait in the form of plotlines and secondary characters in this book.

I'd give this series another try with the next book, to see if the story lines gain strength.
