it was amazing

** spoiler alert ** This book was hot...and not just because it's about firefighters. LOL. Okay, bad joke. But seriously. Howard is a firefighter, and a damn good one. He rescues Kat, who is foolishly attempting to put out her parent's friends house, which is on fire, with a garden hose.

It turns out that the house fire-and others-are the work of an arsonist trying to hurt Howard. The man is part of Howard's past, a past he has all but forced himself to forget because of abuse. Kat is determined to have all of Howard, and not just the physical. He hesitates to share himself emotionally and very realistically almost screws the whole thing up.

The ending is beautiful and I liked that she doesn't tie up all the loose ends. Howard isn't able to father children and he doesn't suddenly gain that ability. To me, this was touching and beautiful and well worth the read.

Hot stuff. LOL
