Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game
While this book won't actually make me like that most American of sports, it gave me a new appreciation for the craft. The description of the history of baseball statistics is great and the constant contrast between Billy Beane's fanatical drive to apply statistics to hiring decisions and the gut-feeling calls of other general managers provides a great backdrop.
