it was ok
bookshelves: iown, must-start-over
Recommended for: History buffs that are also intersted in the market and globalization
Read in January, 2008

This isn't a predictive books like I thought it was from the cover and all the hype. Nope, it is a history book. It gives reason why globalization is happening all while saying "Look! I have a _neat_ metaphor!!" which I found obnoxious. Just skip the introduction and go straight to the part where the author gets into the history. You miss a lot of the bad writing and "look at meeee!" parts and get into the meat of why this thing called globalization happened which is pretty interesting. I was just non plussed by the "look! Globalization!" aspect of the book. Of course globalization in all its finery and scariness is happening and won't stop. Duh.
