Not my favorite Jordan Sonnenblick book (I love Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie), but I liked it. San Lee is wiser than he realizes, but he is also just a really nice kid. San and Woody remind me a little of Jerry Spinelli's Stargirl, Susan, but not quite as unusual, and the basketball A team - B team match reminded me of the book Stargirl too. Love Mildred Romberger the librarian, Sister Mary Clare, and Mr. Dowd. I also like that Peter is a sort-of bully, but not really; there are generous motives behind some of his "bad" behavior.
