really liked it
bookshelves: fiction

I really enjoyed this. I nearly read it in one sitting. Of course I knew the basic idea but didn't know what else to expect going into it. This is a story about human nature; I think RLS is right on. Hyde despised Jekyll, but Jekyll sort of liked Hyde. Eventually, being Hyde was enjoyable and becoming him was uncontrollable. Of course, Hyde was also a miserable creature. This is a great depiction of human sin. We want to get into it, and our hearts can become hardened and start to think it's OK. But the wages of sin is death...
