really liked it

i liked this because it gave a first hand (albeit fictional) narrative from 2 young cousins nora and alicia's point of view of cuba both before and after castro's revolution. as they reach womanhood, we learn of the different paths their lives have taken as nora and her family have fled cuba for a life in the united states while alicia stays in her homeland. realistic, samartin paints a vivid picture and keeps the story flowing.
