it was amazing

-So what's up with this whole Ireland thing? -Don't ask me. All I know is dialogue tags are stoopid... That's Dubliners in a nutshell, until you get to the last two stories, "Grace" and "The Dead," and then all of a sudden you realize that everything you thought you knew about fiction (and life) just exploded in your face and you don't know what to do with yourself anymore. Only James Joyce, I guess, could pull off a story like "Grace." I'm still not sure it works. But it does work. Geniuses really piss me off. Like, they can use puns in every other sentence and nobody calls them on it because somehow we know they are genius puns. Anyway, I'm gonna use more puns in my writing. Read Dubliners; or don't, and you can continue feeling not-inadequate. I recommend the latter.
