Marilyn Singer creates a new type of poem, reverso, which are identical poems written forward and backward with only minor changes in punctuation and capitalization. In Mirror Mirror, Singer revisits well-known fairy and folk tales like "Little Red Riding Hood" and "The Frog Prince"-- her reverso poems cleverly show the story from two different points of view. The concept is fascinating, but some poems work better than others.
