Really more of a three point five. Or three and three quarters. Just ... not quite a four. And I am super stingy with my fives. This is the author's first book. It will be interesting to see what she can come up with next!

The blurb on the back of the book says "A girl I loved had died, had been shot in cold blood. And her murder still haunted me." It's a good blurb as it covers the important parts. Neily loved Carly. Carly loved Neily but when her mother died went through a pretty self-destructive period. Her cousin, Audrey, introduced her to a rough crowd ... and that ended up being her downfall.

A year later Audrey comes back to town and asks Neily to help her figure out what really happened to Carly.

I liked hearing the story from the different perspectives (at different times in the book the story is told from Neily and Audrey's point of view). It's always interesting how the same occurrences can look different to different people.
