it was ok
bookshelves: ww2
Read in December, 2008

The author takes a different approach and goes about telling the story as a detective uncovering the details of his father's crash in a P-51 in France. Through many family letters the home front situation is described, interesting how things were purchased when rationed and how some processes were on the honor system, and they worked!

It is a personal story and additionally a tribute to the family. For me it got too close, at times I felt like I was looking in on another family's private moments.
