This was a really satisfying and complete read. The plot, the character building, and the historical and regional details all come together nicely, like a well-woven piece of fabric. Although there is quite a bit of sorrow, the prevailing sensibility is of harmony and caring love from friends and family. I really enjoyed spending time with Leela and her voice through this one year of hard time of "corner keeping." I can see young girl readers taking a strong liking to this title.
