bookshelves: memoir, police

I catch myself thinking about this book all the time. It's long, and full of odd details of police work, like the physical intimacy of fingerprinting someone you've arrested while holding their hand, or the bureacratic nightmare of trying to fill out paperwork properly with outdated equipment and weird rules. I have a feeling that people who like The Wire might like this.

It was a bit too long for my taste.
