This was a really charming graphic novel. The story follows a 15-year old, Jewish teen named Shira during a time of big changes in her life and how she adjusts. The setting is Miami 1987, and much of the fun comes from the generational dynamics throughout. Shira lives in a hotel, and her two best friends are an elderly woman named Minerva and her grandmother (both residents of the hotel). The story has a little of everything: high school day-to-day traumas, daddy issues, challenging authority, new love, etc....
