did not like it
bookshelves: classics, contains-best-passage-of-all-times

Some very memorable passages in this book... "dreams of men...germs of empires, etc. etc.." but was it racist? Of cooooouuuuuuuuurse!

While some could argue that Joseph Conrad's writing was a byproduct of his life & times I would disagree. I have read a lot from that time period (and before) which is written in a completely different tone. Nope, there will be no excuses for Joseph Conrad. Despite the beautiful prose I have to give him 1 star for not writing a work that stands the test of time.
