I thought Evernight was an interesting spin on the vampire craze that has swept across our bookstores. Instead of being told from a whimpering, delicate female who is always the weaker of the sex, Evernight is told from Bianca's POV, a vampire herself. And not just any old vampire, a born-vampire.

The backdrop to our story is Evernight Academy, a dark and deeply depressing place filled with rich and beautiful (and occasionally cruel) snobs. Except for one - Lucas.

But before you slot the characters into their assigned boxes of vampire and underling, just wait. There are surprises in store.

It was an easy, light read, and while I enjoyed it, I wasn't dying for the sequel, which is usually a good indicator on how much I liked it.
